Measure for a Return
YOU MUST HAVE THE BLIND
HEADRAIL DIMENSIONS

Inside Mount
Make a cardboard template of Headrail Dimensions. (such as 2” X 2.25” rectangle for
Devonwood 2”) 2.25”
2”![]()
Place template in upper corner of window frame, with the Smallest Side as the Height, where the blinds are to be mounted.
Measure the amount of the template sticking out from the window frame into the room.

This is the return width, if no part of the template sticks out, NO Return is needed.
Outside Mount
Mounting on OUTSIDE EDGE of Trim.
Use the LARGER DIMENSION of the headrail PLUS the THICKNESS of the WINDOW TRIM to the WALL.

The TOTAL is the return width.
Outside Mount
Mounting on INSIDE EDGE of Trim.
Depending on the trim, IF the OUTSIDE EDGE of the TRIM DIFFERS IN THICKNESS FROM THE INSIDE EDGE,
SUBTRACT THE DIFFERENCE FROM THE LARGE HEADRAIL DIMENSION.
This is the return width.
Outside Mount
Mounting on OUTSIDE of Trim.
Use the LARGER DIMENSION of the headrail PLUS the THICKNESS of the WINDOW TRIM to the WALL.

The TOTAL is the return width.
Spacer Blocks will need to be ordered for the depth of the trim on BOTH SIDES.
